Task Three - Present the results

The first question  was to see if the audience understands the story of my advert if it makes sense. The results showed mre that averts story dose make sense this shows that the advert is successful because the audience understands what is happening.

The second question was to see what persuaded them about the advert. This was to see what was the best feature in the advert was. The results were varied but mainly they said it was music.
The next question was to find what was the best feature of the advert. Again i received varied results t
. But it was mainly music and story with 80%choosing one of the two.

The final question was about the audiences rating out of 10. W again received varied results ranging from 3-9 . This shows overall people liked it but some people did not . We will need to see the reasons for this by asking peoples opinion during the focus group. The results means my advert is quite popular but dose need some improvements.

Task Five – Re-draft Final Evaluation

The advert i created was to promote the Iphone 5c  by apple. I Chose to promote this product because it is important part of society and the most popular brand of phone at the moment. It is also accessible by the me and the other producers. The advert was targeted to people of all ages who accessible to Iphones especially 16-30 years olds. This was because the product we found was most appealing to this age range. This age range are the most sociable ones especially when using mobile phones , so they will more likely buy the product. When creating advert ,you have to find a selling point which will make audiences want to buy the product. The selling point of the advert the sociale the different things the phone can do,especially parts that help you be social showing that the phone can make you more poplar.

After  i finished the planning of the advert we filmed it , then we edited it. After the advert was finished wee need ed to see the opinion of the audience of our advert to see ,how ,i can improve it before it goes to apple. To get this we had to carry out different forms of audience research. The two method we used to collect this information was a focus group . This was carried out because it gave more detailed opinions of the advert because they can tell me thgir opinion of the advert , so it gives us the chance to ask open questions. The other method i used to collect information was a questionnaire. I carried out this research because it was easier to collect a lot of answers because you can send as many questionnaires to as many people as you need. Also it is easier to collect closed answers because you just ask the participants yes or no on most questions which is time consuming when doing it ion a focus group. The questionnaire was created on the website survey monkey which is a free website. We carried out the two types of ,collecting information because it gave a  variety of answers which helped us see if  the audience like our advert and see improvements that needed to be made.

When conducting my questionnaire i received  a variety of information about my advert which help me evaluate the opinions of my advert. We asked two types of questions which were open and closed questions. This was to receive different types of information. The open questions was asked to get the audience opinion with details. An example of an open question was  "How can you improve the advert?" This was so  I could get any improvements to my advert. This feedback would have been used if they found any problems which they did. One of the participants of the questionnaire said one of the fonts was out of place int e advert. The closed questions were made to see mass opinion of the advert. This would also make the information easier to collate because there was only a few answers that could have been used.  An question we asked was state the advert out of 10, so there was only 10 answers that could have been given , so it is easier to put into a graph. This question was asked to see the overall opinion of the audienced of my advert, which useing this shaped the questions asked in my focus group. If I received mainly negative responses the questions in the focus group would be what was wrong with it and how id improve it. If they were mostly positive I would ask why was thew advert good. I did this because it made the results from the focus group help improve my advert.

The other method was the focus group. I showed the audience that volunteered to be part of the the focus group the advert. I selected the participants  from those who volunteered. I selected a range of people , both who fit into and did not fit into the target audience. This was to see if the advert applied to not only the target audience but people not part of the target audience to see if the advert would be successful. Th
e questions that i asked were shaped by the answers i received in my questionnaire. I decided to do this because i can see the reasons for their opinions. .Also if a person gives me their opinion i can ask them to explain their opinions to me. I used this method and the questionnaire to find a variety of information and opinions to see an overall opinion of my advert. Also if i don't get that much information for the questionnaire i can still get information from the focus group.

The information i received from both the questionnaire and the focus group was all analysed to see the overall opinions of the advert. Though both methods i received both positive and negative responses to my advert. Most of the information i received was positive, but i did receive some negative feedback about my advert. The most frequent positive feedback I received was on my cinematography. With many saying they like the range of shots i used in my advert because it made the advert more visually dynamic. This was a really positive response because that was a problem with other adverts that were created. I also received feedback that outlined what  needed improving. An example of feedback I received was that there needed to be more of a focus on the phone itself , because the advert could have been for any phone. I made the change by include the phone in shots more frequently especially the logo. But this was hard to improve that much on because i would have to refilm some of the advert which was not possible. But the main feedback i did receive was positive which showed me and the other producers that our advert has overall been well received.

In my feedback i received some surprising results. This mainly came from the over fifties. The over fities who were involved in the feedback actually believed that our advert was good and appealed to them because it showed them some problems in there lives they want to be solved. They believed that the advert made them want to buy the phone. This was surprising because they are not my target audience because they were the least likely to want to buy the phone. Another surprise was that he and the females said they like the music that was used in the advert . This was surprising because the music more applies to younger males which was a good response because it opened the product to a wider audience that i did not expect to have. All this feedback helped me because it made me realize that my advert is applying not just my target audience but people not in my target audience.

When i was asking for feedback i think i selected question that overall received the most useful opinions of my advert which helped make improvements to my advert. Bu there were some questions that did  not give out the best answers i could have received.  Some of the questions especially in the question was just a closed question   but it was a question that needed explanation. An example of this is  "could the advert be improved?". This would only give a basic answer if it could have been improved or not , it did not give anyone the chance to explain what improvement could have been implemented. This meant the answer was basic so did not helped me or tell me what needed to be done to improve it. The question could have been changed to an open one saying "what improvements could have been made to the advert?" with a text box to explain there answer so i get information i could have used. This would mean that i would have more reliable information.

I have my own opinion of how good the advert especially the editing and cinematography and also if it was a good advert for the product.  I believe that the advert was overall my advert was successful in advertising the phone and entertaining audiences who will be watching the advert making them want the product. I am going to have a unfair view because i'm not going to say my advert is bad so my view is less trustworthy so can't be guaranteed. But my opinion has evidence to support it in the form of the feedback i received especially when even the older generation said they would buy the phone because of my advert. But i do see that improvements need to be made to the advert.

After finishing my advert there are some improvements i would make if i could. There come under three areas . They are the planning , editing and feedback. Firstly when i was planning my advert the plans i made lacked detail. This meant when we were on set we had to come up with ideas of shots and plan where everyone was. This meant the filing was halted meaning it took longer to film. On my next project i want to improve on the details i add during pre production so the film runs more efficiently. The second improvement i would make is the shots were on screen too long. This meant the the audience got bored of the shots. This meant the audience might lose interest in the advert. To improve it would film more shots so i could shick what is on screen and put the shots on screen. This would make it even more visually dynamic . The final improvement i would make was i would ask more people to give there feedback because my focus group had around 10 people in it and the questionnaire had less than 10 participants. This meant that the results are less reliable to be taken as an overall opinion because there is not enough people to take it as a estimate. This meant i cant trust the results as much. To improve it i would ask more people about there opinion . This means the feedback would be more reliable.

In my opinion i believe my advert is technically good . This is because the filming was especially to a high standard. The shorts were not shaky or out of focus. This meant the shots look more professional so more people will like the advert. Also the shots we filmed we visually interesting with the camera filming in a range of angles getting visually interesting shots. This meant the shots were more interesting so the audience will enjoy the advert more. I found that the advert is also effective when i came to selling the product. I found this because of the feedback i received. Everyone knew what the advert was advertising and most said the advert made them want to buy an iphone. showing that the advert was successful in selling the product that i was trying to advertise.

If i could redo the advert the main things i would improve would  be length of shots so the audience don't get bored and make the advert more visually dynamic. This would make them enjoy the advert and be more interested in what it is advertising. The other thing i would have changed was the including of the phone and the log more because it is not shown enough even though the audience understand what the advert is selling, the logo and phone could have been seen more. I would have done this is film more shots of the phone. This would make the audience understand even more that the phone do se help your life.

After finishing my advert and analysing all the feedback i received i think i did advertise the phone very well trying to increase sales of the iphone. In my advert i aimed to make an advert that advertised some of  the feature greatly highlighting  key parts of the phone. I am happy with the advert and i believe it is very effective selling the phone. But i can see improvements i could have made to the advert. If i could have made the changes i would be 100% happy with the advert.

Task Four- Finished product:

The advert i created was to promote the Iphone 5c  by apple. I Chose to promote this product because it is important part of society and the most popular brand of phone at the moment. It is also accessible by the me and the other producers. The advert was targeted to people of all ages who accseble to Iphones especally 16-30 years olds. This was because the product we found was most appeling to this age range. This age range are the most socibale ones espoecally when useing mobile phones , so they will more likely buy the product. When creating advert ,you have to find a selling point which will make audiences want to buy the product. The selling point of the advert the socale the different things the phone can do,especally parts that help you be social showing that the phone can make you more poplar.

After  i finished the planning of the advert we filmed it , then we edited it. After the advert was finished wee need ed to see the opion of the audence of our advert to see ,how ,i can improve it before it gose to apple. To get this we had to carry out different forms of audience research. The two method we used to collect this information was a focus group . This was carried out because it gave more deatiled opions of the advert because they can tell me thgir oopiobn of the advert , so it gives us the chance to ask open questions. The other method i used to collect information was a questionair. I carried out this reasearch because it was esier to collect alot of anwwsers because you can send as many servays to as many peopl;e as you need. Alos it is esoer to collect closed anwsers because you just ask the partipants yes or no on most questions which is time cosumeing when doing it ion a focus group. The questionair was created on the website survey monkey which is a free website. We carried out the two types of ,collecting information because it gave a  variety of anwses which helped us see if  the audence like our advert and see improvemnts that needed to be made.

When conduecting my questionnaire i received  a variety of information about my advert which help me evaluate the opions of my advert. We asked two types of questions which were open and closed questions. This was to recieve different types of infomation. The open questions was asked to get the audience opion with detaile. An example of an opn question was  "How can you improve the advert?" This was so  i could get any improvements to my advert. This ffedback would have been used if they found any problems which thegy did. One of the participants of the questiarr said one of the fonts was out of place int e advert. This would also make the information esier to collate because there was only a freew answers that could have been used.  An question we askewd was srate theadvert out of 10, so there was only 10 anwsers that could have been given , so it is eier to put into a graph. This question was asked to see the overall opion of the audienced of my advertr, which useing this shaped the questions asked in my focus group. If i reveive mainly negative reponsesn the questions in the focus group would be what was wrong with it and how id improve it. If they were mostly positve i would ask why was thew advert good. I did this because it made the results from the focus group help improve my advert.
The other method was the focus group. I showed the audience that volenteered to be part of the the focus group the advert. I selected the paripants  from those who volenterred. I selected a range of people , both who fit into and did not fit into the target audience. This was to see if the advert applied to not only the target audience but people nopt part of the target audience to see if the advert woiuld be succseful. Th

Task Two – Production

When creating my advertisement i went though a long process to fully make sure it would go off successfully and to make sure i would have a completed product that is at high standards so it would get selected. This happen all the way though the process from filming to editing. My aim was to make an advert which was diverse in its camera styles and shots.

Filming
The first part of the advert was the filming. At this phase of the process we had to arrange equipment to film the advertisement. We rented the equipment from http://www.hireacamera.com. We needed to rent a camera and a tripod. We rented it because it worked out cheaper to rent the camera  and tripod. The cost came to £136. We picked it up from their building and was rented for the two days. For our production I also needed an sd card big enough to store the film. Luckily one of the producers had a spare one he used on his last project , so we used that. This also helped save money. When we were filming lighting was a key issue we had to look at. One each of the set we wanted to utilise natural light as much as we could . This is because we want our advert to look as natural as possible. This was possible for the first two scenes because they were both filmed in the day time. When we were on the set of the shots we looked for the best position to film that lite the scene. But we aimed it so the camera is not facing the light so there is no back lighting. The third scene was dirk so light was needed. To create light in the shot we used the torches on lights. This is because they were bright enough to see the shot but not too bright that it dose not look like night.

When filming the production instructing the cast and crew was very important. We started instructing the cast and crew on what to do in pre production. All the cast and crew were a pivotal part of pre production.  They were informed of their roles in the production and what they were expected to do. These ranged from what the camera man was going to film to what the actors were going to do. They  were informed on all decisions made. They also all had any documents they would need for filming which would help direct them, e.g. shooting schedule. There was also around though of what needed to do so everyone knew. On set me and the producers were there to oversee the production and direct the crew and cast the production went off successfully. The pre planning helped on set because the cast and crew knew our vision and knew what we wanted to do set. When they needed direction we were there to direct them . We also made sure the cast and crew knew what needed to be done by each member so they can help each other. This helped because the cast and crew could help each other if we were not available .

Throughout the whole process I considered health and safety highly. This started in the pre planning phase. When we were planning our advert we designed document that consider all problems we could faced. This was done by visiting each location . While there we looked at the soundings to see what threats there are and see what problems could occur , not just for us , also for the general public. W e did this because it gave us a real view of what problems there are nin the locations , so we could see what we could do about it . Also on the document we figured out how we could deal with these problems if they did occur. This helped when we were on set because we saw these dangers and avoided them as much as we could . Doing this meant that no problems occurred. We handed out the document to all the cast and crew so they knew what dangers that might have occurred and what should they do if something goes wrong.

Editing

When I finished the filing side of the production , I needed to edit the advertisement, so i could produce a successful advert.

I edited my project on final cut express, because it is an advanced program (unlike others including windows  movie maker). Also it is not too complicated so it could make my advert easily. The first thing i had to do was upload the footage. I did by plugging the camera with the sd card in the computer. Then i went on log and transfer and exported all the clips of the advert into a new sequence i created.

When they were on in the project bin they needed to be ordered . This is so they would be easy to find when i was creating  the advert. I order the clips in order of each scene and the order in the scene.

In my advert i used a range of editing techniques and transitions to make the advert more entertaining and professional. The first one i used was Dip to colour . During my advert there were 5 transitions where it changes using different colors. This transition was used to show a change in time or scene. The colors were selected because they are the colours of the iPhone 5 C's. This colour transition was a way of getting the audience to understand the change and to show that the iPhone was brightening up t6he characters lives. We made this transition by selecting the end of a clip , inserting the transition , then finding the color that matched an iPhone.

Another technique i used was at the end of my advert, which was a zoom. This zoom was a zoom of a photograph taken on the iPhones in the advert. This zoom was used to show the photo on screen. The zoom was used for two reasons. First it was a transition to make the photos flow onto screen instead of it appearing looking out of place. Also it was used to make it look like a instant picture s, so as soon as it is taken you can see it like on a normal camera. This was to make the advert more visually entertaining.

When creating my advert I import music into it. When planning my advert  i was looking for music i could include in the advert. I eventually decide on the song, so when it came to editing i downloaded the song. Once i downloaded it I imported it into the bin. Once it was imported i put it onto the time line. In the middle of my advert there is a scene where there is no music. This is because the is on radio instead of the phone. The radion is not working. So i got the razor blade tool and cut the parts of the sound i don't need. Then i imported a sound byte of a radio not working. This was used to show that the phones music is better than the radio.

At the start and end of my advert text is used. This text was used to show who the advert was made by and to show our tagline of our advert which is Brighten up your life.  The text was used to remind the audience what our tagline was and to entertain them,. The text was created using the text tool. It becomes it's own clip which I put on the timeline above a clip.

Once i had finished my advertisement i had to export it . To export it i had to go on to the menu and find export using quick time movie. One there  i had to change the settings to ones that run make it run on tv in the best quality.Once the settings were change it was exported onto the computer as a mopvie ready to be put onto disk.

Task One – Sources of Information

When planning my advert i devised a set off pre production documents. These documents helped when designing my idea because I could see what was possible when making our advert which helped us come up with a plausible advert idea.

Proposal

The first document we made was a proposal. This was a short plan of what we were going to do for our advert which listed what was the story of our advert, our target audience , our settings and the actors. This document was very important to our advert . The document was a plan could stick to for our avert. It was used thoughout our advert to remind ourselves what we should do . This was important because it was a guide to what we should do for our advert. We could have used it more. If i used it properly I would have used it during my pitch. If I did a pitch in front of Apple we could have given them the document , so they get a better understanding of the advert and convince them to put money into our advert which eventualy lead to our advert being used. The Propsoal was also very important because it laid the basic plan for our advert which we followed when we got lost. On the next project i will carry out I will create a more detailed Propsoal which outlines evry part of the advert because durinng this project we did not know what to do for one scene so had to come up with it on set which wasted time.

Production schedual call sheet

The second document was the production call sheet. This was a plan for the cast and crew to tell them where there supose to be on certain days. This was to make sure everyone is where their suppose to be on the days of filming to make the production flow smoothly. The document was very important because it informed everyone where they should be , meet and how to get there. This ment that everyone was where they were suppose to be meaning our time was used effectively. Also it was a checklist of who we had where so we knew who to talk to on set and we knew names. If it was a longer production with more cast I could have used it more. This is because it would have a plan for each day and each setting so it would  have more of a use. On my next project i will make sure that all the cast and crew received a copy of this document because some of the cast became lost and did not know where they were going.

Location Visit Sheet

The third document was the location visit sheet. This document was used to show all the loactions we would film in. After reseachering many different loactions we chose 3 loactions. This document helped  us plan what was going to happen in each loactions. The document showed a map , dangers of the location and the weather of the loactions on the day we were filming. This ment we could see if it was possible to film scenes at the location. It also helped see if we could film on that day due to weather. The document was very useful because it helped set up what was possble to film. There were problems with the locaions including busy road and streets , so this documentwent though the problems and helped us se what we could and could not film. This document also helped see what days it was possible to film and what days were not possible due to the weather because one day we werre orignally going to film it was raining so we changed it while makeing this document. The problem we had though was the plan did not include all the locational problems there was so when we got to the loactions there was unseen problems includeding a car parked in the way where  we were going to film. On my next project i will recret more people to go on location visits to see problems that occur so we can a more extensive location visit sheet.

Budget
The forth document was the budget document. This document was used to set out the budget of our production. The buget helped me see how much money we needed for our production. This sheet made sure what funds went where when creating our advert. This ment the advert would be more cost effective because we could see what to pend where and stopping us over spending. The document was useful because it helped us not over spend on the advert. As a indepennt film company we do not have a big buget so this document ment we would not spend over the li it bank rupting the company. I could have used the documet more. If i was appling for funds from apple  this sheet would show how much is needed and show apple where there money is going so they can rely that the fuinds are going to the right company to make their advert. The problem with the buget was the prices were not correct. On my next project I prices of everything before makeing would check the the buget sheet so we can have an acurate budget so we do not overspend.

Shooting Schedual
The fifth Document i used was the shooting schedual. This document was a plan of what was happening on each day of shooting. This document what day , what scene we were shooting, who is supose to be there, what they should be wearing , location and what props are needed. This showed us and the cast what was happening on each filing day so everyone knows what was going to happen. This document was useful because it set up hat we was filming on each day and gave told the cast where they have to be and what they have to wear so they were prepared for shooting that day. If the doucment was not there the cast and crew would have no clew what they were dooing and where they should be on certain days. The document was used alot by all the cast and crew who all got there own copy which ment they knew what was happening on each day. If it was a biggere production it would have been used more because there would be  more to film and a bigger cast and crew  that will need to know what was happening and where it was happening. On my next project i would have mad a more detailed and longer schedual so every one knows what is going to happen on each day.

Shot List

The sixth document i used was the shot list. The document was a plan of each shot that will be filmed in the advert and shows what order they are in. This document show what scenes need to be filmed , what shot number and a description. This shows what needs to be filmed for each scene to fit into the story so we can complete the advert. This schedule also showed what needed to be filmed so showed who needed to be where  so we can plan when people should be on set. The document  was very useful because it showed what needed to be filmed so it prepare us of what was being shot on each day. The document also showed what had to be shot in each scene so I knew what needed to be shot. If the document was not there i would not know what need to be shot so the advert would be at a stand still. If the the production was bigger the document would have had more shots and scenes because more needed to be done to film the advert. To improve my advert i would have made the document more detail with more detail in each shot because the document lacked detail so shots had to be made on the spot. This would mean the advert would be more planed taking up less shooting time.\

Risk assessment

The seventh document i made was the risk assesment. The document was a plan that set out any problems that could occur while filming. This document includes what problems could be faced, the severity of the risk , how likely they would occur and what to stop the problem. This shows what problems will be faced when making the advert. It show us what to watch out for when making the advert to avoid these problems. The advert is filmed in public so there are dangers not just to the cast and crew but the general public, so this document helped us plan to keep the general public out of danger so we don't get in trouble . This document was important because it helped stop any problems that could of occurred and kept the general public out of danger . This would delay or possible stop filming of the advert so the advert would not have been finished. If the document was not there , an accident have occurred. If the production was bigger there would have been more risks to write about so the document would have had more use. To improve the document i would have made the document more detailed. The problems did not have enough detail so there was more of a risk of them occurring . Also there is not enough detail of what to do if the problems do occur this would mean we would not know what to do delaying filming times and possibly stopping the cast or crew working.

Contact Details

To eighth document I made was the contact details. The document shows how to contact the cast and crew if it is needed. The document includes the mobile and home numbers.  If for any reason we needed to contact one of the cast and crew we can because we have there numbers. This we increase the speed of shooting because we can contact them to tell them anything they need to know including filming times and location. Also if they do not turn up we can contact them to see where they are. This document is important because it is the key way of contacting the cast and crew if they are not with us. We can contact them if we need to know anything or tell them anything. If I did not have the document there would be no way of contacting them so the filming will be halted because we can't tell them anything. If it was a bigger project the document  would be used more because there would be more cast and crew needed to be contacting so there would be more names on the document. The document could be improved by including addresses and any other way to contacting them. Also more of the cast and crew could of been added to the document , this would mean it would have been easier to arrange everyone to work.

Costumes and Props

The ninth document i made was the costumes and props . The document is a plan of what all the cast will be wearing in the shoot . Also what props will be needed in the advert. The document includes what costumes and props are needed and when they will be needed . This will be used to give to the cast , so they know what they need to wear in the shoot. It also lets us know what props we need to get for the shoot. This is needed because it makes sure we have everything for our advert . This will stop the adverting being halted trying to replace the props The document is also used to make sure we have everything while we are on set. This will increase the speed of shooting because we know what the cast are wearing , so they did not look out of place in the advert. The document is important because it shows what is needed for the shoot and show the cast what they need to bring. If the document was not their the cast would not know what to wear and I would not know what to wear. The document would be used more if it was a bigger production because there would be more props and costumes needed to be sorted out. To improve the document more detailed would be needed with the costumes because there is basic details e.g. (dress). Also not all the props are on the list which means we had to find props on set.

Contingency plan

The final document I made was the contingency paln. The document is pan of what problems could occur. It also includes what i would do to overcome these problems. The document shows the problems of location , weather and dates. If something goes wrong the whole cast and crew knows what they can do to if these problems occur. If the problems did occur it would not stop the filming because of the plan. The plan was a backup plan if anything went wrong . The plan was useful because it showed the cast and crew knew what to do if there were problems. The document was used on set because we had to change the day of shooting. All the cast and crew knew what to do so filming was not stopped. If the project was bigger there would have been more problems that could occur so the document would have been used more. To improve the document i would have ddved more of the problems that could have occured and more soultions because not all the probles were included which ment if they did occure we would not know what to do. Also more details would have been added of what to do like days we could have changed it to.

Task Two – Screening

Create your free online surveys with SurveyMonkey , the world's leading questionnaire tool.

When I finished my advertisement I wanted to receive audience feedback about my advert so i can see what the audience think of my advert . This is so i can see what people opinion and see how i can improve my advert before realceing it. I did this in two ways. I did it in the form of quantitive and qualitive information.

Quantitive
Quantitive information is information presented as numbers. This is done to  see people opion presented in numbers. So you see the percentage of people like the advert. I collected this information using survay monkey. I did this because it is the quickest easiest and best way of collecting allot of information. In this form of collecting information i asked the audience there opeion of the advert out of 10 , if they thought it was a goo advert and if it was approriate. Most of them were yes or no answers so i can collate the information. It was more useful to ask yes no questions because it was over the computer and the information is easier to sort to make graphs.  The survey was good giveing people opion of the advert but it did not give detail.

Qualitative

Qualitative information is presented as word answers. This is done so people can give detailed opinions instead of just selected answers they could say what they want to about the advert . I collected this information by carring out a screening in front of a audience who could give what ever answers they want to. I did this because it let me collected more detailed answers of opions and improvements of my advert. I asked what there opion of the advert was, what features were shown and improvements i could make in my advert. It was more useful to asked for detailed answers because it was face to face so 5they could give longer answer and  they don't have to write anything. The screening was good because it gave the audience a chance  to give detailed opions.

There were pros and cons of collecting quantitive information using survey monkey. The pros of useing survey monkey is there i can collect a lot of information. When using survey Monkey you type in 10 question and you made a survey. This can  be sent to a lot of people . This means that more people will do it because you do not need to round them up and get them to say there answers in a room. In the room there is a limited number you can fit. But with a survey you can send it to loads of people and they will answer it without having to go anywhere. Also it is less time consuming because you do not need to find people to do it then bring them all to a room where they have to answer questions instead you just send out the survey and they answer it.  The cons of using survey monkey is that the information lacks detail. On the survey they are usually tick boxes . This means they can only give set answers so can give they full opion or reason behind these opions. This means the information is is just opions , not reasons behind opions or  improvements. Also people might not answer the survey . I could send out loads of surveys but no one might answer them. This means that I would receive a lack of results. This would make the results less reliable because less people answered it.

There are also pros and cons when collecting qualitative information using screening. The Pros of having a screening is that the information is more detailed. The participants of the screening are in front of you so they can give more detailed answers because they can chose what they want to say instead of having set answers. This is because they don't have to fill out a questionnaire instead they say there answers.  This means that the answers received will have more detail because they can explain there reasoning behind their opinion of the advert. This will mean they will tell me their problems and improvements of the the adverts o i can make these changes to the advert. Also if participants in the room they will answer. Unlike surveys the participants are in front of the researcher , so they have to answer the questions. They can ignore the questions  like they can do in a questionnaire. This means that it more definite to get answers. This means that i will definately get some results from the audience for improvement of my advert. The cons of screening are  the answer recieve can't be collated. This is because the answers are more detailed. This means that they can not be collated  because all answers are different so they can not be put together to form a table. The problem of not being able to collate the information is that i will not receive and overall opion of the advert that can be turned it to a table to it can not be used as a generalization of peoples opion. Another con of screening is getting enough people to participate in the group. People volunteer to participate in the screening, so it is there choice to participate. This means if no one wants to volunteer i will not collect enough results . this means that i will not find out if my advert is good or not.

When i was collecting feedback for my advert i had to take into account different groups of people in society. This is because i needed to get the opion of different groups of people to see if it appeals to them. Also this is to make sure the advert is not seen as offensive or rude. Getting these different opions helps my advert because they can suggest improvements to get their group to enjoy this advert. The different groups i tried to include was different ages, genders, races , religions and sexualties. I did this by selecting as many different groups in my screening as possible . The groups i could not include in my screening i including in the questionnaire. This was so i could include all these groups to get their opinions. The different groups had different opinions. An example of this is ages. Younger people had different people had different opinions. The younger people enjoyed the advert and believed it applied to them whereas the older people believed it did not appeal to them or people there age. This information was very useful because it helps understand how i could improve my advert.

When getting feedback on my advert i asked a range of questions which were both open ended and closed questions. I did so i could collect a lot of different answer. The open questions helped see reasons for people opinions and improvements to the advert. This is because they can say longer answers meaning i could collect more information. I also used closed questions . These were to see people opinions in figures. This is so i could collect all this information and collate it into a table to see percentages of peoples opinion. Which will help to see if people really liked it. The types of questions differed for which type of method i used. When using survey monkey i asked only -closed question . This is because thew survey is seen by more people so i can get more information to collate. The more information i get the more reible my results are . This means that the the conclusions can be more generalized if a lot of people had this belief. When carrying out my screening  i asked open questions. This is because there is less people so i can get the people's opinions with out having too much to work with. The participants will give more detailed answers  so i can see peoples opinions of the advert and to give me improvements with out having too much information to sort though.

The answers i received though both survey monkey and the screening were reliable. This is for many reasons. Firstly , i asked so many different groups about my advert. This means that i got a lot of different opinions from different types of people so i could get more of a generalized view of each group. Also i asked many peoples opinion of my advert. The more people i ask the more reliable my results are because if they have similar opinions it means that can be generalized to more peoples opinions, so if most like the advert its likely a lot of people like the advert. This means that i find out if the advert is going to be successful enough to put onto tv .

This process could have had some improvements. When carrying out the screening many of the audience member were the same age. This meant I might have received an age biased on my advert. So the advert might have applied to that age but not anyone else meaning the advert would not be successful. Also i would have included more people in my screening. I had around 8 people in my screening this meant that the answers i received were limited because there was not many people who could answer. Which causes an answer biased so the answer is less trustworthy.  The improvement to the survey monkey survey is more people could have carried out the survey. Not as many people carried out the survey than I wanted , this means that the answers are not as strong because ,not enough people agreed with an answer. Also more questions could have been asked. I only asked 10 questions. The questions were all the main questions . They did not have a chance to explain their answer. So the answers are less detailed so we don't know there reasons for their opinions.
